President William samoei Ruto says that the Kenyan government will pay Kenyans for just having trees on their farms.
The head of state said this during the ushirika day celebrations that took place at the Kenyatta international convention centre (KICC).
“I want to give you heads up, i want to let you know that in the coming few years, you will be paid for having trees in your farm. So start preparing and plant the trees. Am already doing that and i don’t want you to say that i never told you. Because trees are Tomorrow’s business“
Ruto also went ahead to reveal that he has already started Planting trees as he encouraged Kenyans to start doing the same. He also said that trees will be Tomorrow’s business.
He also went ahead to explain that no one will have to cut and sell the trees to get paid, they will just be paid for having them.
“Trees are the business of the tomorrow , so everyone should start planting them; it has nothing to do with selling the trees, you will just be paid for having them in your farm.“
The president further explained why it is important to plant more trees as he revealed to Kenyans that we are having a very big problem of climate change in the whole world.
During the Mashujaa day celebrations that took place in Nairobi, the president advised kenyans to plant three hundred trees each and also promised to reward those who will hit the target.
